The West Central Women’s Resource Centre (WCWRC) provides services and programming to women, gender diverse people and families in the West Central neighbourhood of Winnipeg. WCWRC is person centered and practices empowerment, inclusion, harm reduction, multi-level, and community economic development philosophies to support people experiencing poverty, homelessness, mental illness, violence, substance use or participating in sex-trade work.

Position Summary:Â
The Housing Administrative Assistant will support the Director of Housing and the housing program staff at the West Central Women’s Resource Centre.
Accountability:Â
The Housing Administrative Assistant is responsible to, and will be supervised by the Director of Housing. To ensure appropriate accounting of hours worked, completed timesheets are to be submitted bi-weekly, by payroll date, to the Director of Housing. To enhance the staff team and to be accountable to one another attendance at staff meetings, program meetings, and trainings is required.

Salary:Â $20-23/hour, plus benefits package
Time requirement:Â 37.5 hours per week

Responsibilities:
·       Assist housing program staff to collect and maintain accurate records and statistics, entering data into reporting systems as appropriate
·       Facilitate the implementation of the Homeless Individuals and Families Information System (HIFIS) as required by program funders.
·       Develop and maintain spreadsheets to track program related data.
·       Maintain accurate and organized financial records relating to participant costs.
·       Maintain and update program procedure manuals.
·       Compile program statistics and create reports, to be submitted to the Director of Housing.
·       Assist program staff to problem solve administrative challenges and to administer damage deposits, rent top ups and other participant related expenses as required.
·       Compile weekly rental listings for the centre.
·       Assist with developing and delivering life skills training sessions (including tax services) for participants to help build their capacity to maintain housing and make steps towards positive life choices, especially focusing on tenancy skills and knowledge.
·       Manage, track and distribute bus tickets and other housing resources for the housing team.
·       Attend staff and program meetings, and take notes at regular housing case management and file review meetings.
·       Attend networking meetings in place of the Director of Housing when required.
·       Maintain professional relationships with referral resources and other Housing First service providers.
·       Assist with general administration for WCWRC as necessary and Support drop-in and other WCWRC programming as requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Essential:
·       Completion of Grade 12
·       Excellent Excel skills and ability to use Microsoft Office and Outlook
·       Excellent organizational and time management skills including ability to meet deadlines
·       Strong attention to detail and follow up
·       Excellent interpersonal skills
·       Professional and responsible with sensitive and confidential issues
·       Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
·       Ability to work under pressure
·       Strong written and verbal communication skills
·       Ability to work within anti-racist and anti-oppressive frameworks and actively engage in ongoing learning about these frameworks
·       Strong ability to work within a team atmosphere
Preferred:
·       General understanding of housing and EIA systems
·       Strong understanding of empowerment and harm reduction philosophies
·       Ability to work from a multi-level approach
·       Understanding of Community Economic Development concepts
·       Able to work from a trauma-informed approach
·       Ability to adapt to changing priorities
·       Ability to multi-task
