On today’s podcast we’re joined by Melissa Stone, coordinator for Astum Api Niikinaak, Winnipeg’s community of 22 tiny homes located behind Thunderbird House that opened late last year.
The low-barrier units provide unhoused individuals a safe and secure space where they have their own space and a community around them. There is no maximum time to stay - the goal is to provide the stability, programming and support to help unhoused individuals transition off the streets at their own pace.
